The Department of Commerce, Egra Sarada Shashi Bhusan College was established in 1984 and started to offer general course only. The Honours course was introduced in the academic session 2001-2002. The Department conducts Industrial visit in every academic session to different industrial areas. The department is well equipped with smart class rooms having audio visual devices for teaching and learning. The department has also two computer laboratories with high speed internet facilities. To carter the needs of the students and teachers the department has its own departmental seminar library and departmental library (specimen copies), containing lots of reference books, text books and journals. In order to keep pace with emerging demands of the students and teachers, the department regularly organizes special lecture on new topics related to commerce and other allied subjects. The department regularly organizes State level and National Level Seminar. The Department is having competent faculties in their own domain of teaching. Total intake capacity is 59 in Hons.

Departmental Library: The Department of Commerce have its own library with a collection of books, journals, and other reference materials specific to the field of commerce. This library remain open to all students of the department.

Computer Lab: The Department of Commerce have its own computer lab with internet connectivity and other necessary software that students can use to complete their assignments and projects related to commerce.

Seminar Room: The department have a modern seminar room where classes, meetings, and presentations are conducted. This room is equipped with modern technology such as projectors, smartboards, and other audio-visual aids that can be used for teaching and learning.

Faculty Rooms: The department have separate faculty room with state of art Information and Communication Technology to make the faculties updated as need of the hours. The departmental faculty room is fully equipped with high speed internet, Wi-Fi facility, Recent Text Books as per CBCS 2018 and NEP 2020.  

Research Facilities: The department have research facilities lab that  is equipped with modern equipment and technology that students can use to conduct research in the field of commerce. Three research scholars are perusing Ph.D. from the department of Commerce under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav. 

Career Counseling: The department have a dedicated career counseling cell where that is very active and help students who seek guidance regarding their career prospects in the field of commerce. Career counselling cell regularly organizes campus recruitment where every year various companies conducts interviews and selected significant number of students.
