Biography

I am Partha Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Egra S. S. B. College. I have completed my History Hons. course from Scottish Church College, under University of Calcutta in 2015 with a first class; and M.A. from Jadavpur Unversity with 68.88%. Then, I have done my M.Phil. from Jadavpur University on the topic 'Lyrical Response to "Nehruvian Nationalism": The Progressive-inspired Poets in the Bombay Film Industry (1947-1964)'. Now, I am pursuing my Ph.D. on the internal dynamics of Congress Poltics in Late Colonial Bengal, especially emphasizing the interrelations between the Bengal Provincial Congress Committee and its District Congress Committees. I am particularly interested in musical history of 20th century India, socio-political history of late colonial state with emphasis on Bengal and caste movements of 20th century.
