Science inception i.e from 2001 the Department of CHEMISTRY was introduced in this college. The subject was read as general subject. Next Honours Course was introduced in 2009.

The Chemistry department offers three year undergraduate courses in Chemistry (intake capacities:Chemistry-40), Class sizes are small providing a good deal of faculty-student interaction and academic flexibility.

A minor & major Research Project has been completed under the supervision of Dr. Nirmal Kumar Hazra , a faculty member of the department.

We are trying to inculcate among the students the significance of learning the chemistry subjects and it’s contribution to society. Honours course was introduced in 2009 to meet the pressing demand of the students and guardians alike. The department since its inception has been consistently good record of success of students in the university examination.A good number of students of our department have gotten themselves admitted for post graduate studies last year. This year two of our bonafied students ranked 1^st and 2^nd position in University Entrance examination (Vidyasagar University) of P.G and also two students ranked UGC NET CSIR Examination.

Departmental Library: The Department Of Chemistry Have Its Own Library With A Collection Of Books, Journals, And Other Reference Materials Specific To The Field Of Chemistry. This Library Remain Open To All Students Of The Department.

Computer Lab: The Department Of Chemistry Have Its Own Computer Lab With Internet Connectivity And Other Necessary Software That Students Can Use To Complete Their Assignments And Projects Related To Chemistry.

Faculty Rooms: The Department May Have Separate Faculty Rooms Where The Faculty Members Can Work And Interact With Students and Access Internet.

Research Facilities: The Department Have Research Facilities Lab That  Is Equipped With Modern Equipment And Technology That Students Can Use To Conduct Research In The Field Of Chemistry..

Career Counseling: The Department Have A Dedicated Career Counseling Center Where Students Can Seek Guidance Regarding Their Career Prospects In The Field Of Chemistry Colaboration with Egra We Care(N.G.O)
