Principal's Message

Egra Sarada Shashi Bhusan college, one of the oldest and prime institutes of higher education in the district of Purba Medinipur, was established in 1968 in the then undivided district of Medinipur. Since its inception, with the aim to cater knowledge and education among the young and aspiring minds of Egra and its adjacent areas, the institute has journeyed a long way in becoming a trustworthy institution of academic excellence. In the previous NAAC visit the college was accredited with ‘B’ grade with a CGPA of 2.32. This is a gradually burgeoning institution in terms of its physical infrastructure and academic aspects and in its ever broadening scope presently it is offering Honours, General, Vocational courses at the Under Graduate level and Post Graduate level in different subjects.

The vision of this institution is to render our college into a centre of quality learning and our mission is to shape our students into smart, responsible and sincere citizens by imparting both material and moral education. Considering the changing scenario and the growing needs of the day, we are also very keen to introduce different types of traditional and non-traditional courses, different job oriented courses and vocational training in our institution to ensure their future and make them free from poverty, unemployment and social injustice. Above all, our main purpose is to contribute, at least to some extent, in the development and sustainability of our society through building a healthy academic atmosphere and to emerge as an institute of potential academic excellence in the coming days.
