Code of Conduct for Students, Teachers and Non- Teaching Staff

Code of Conduct for the Students

  1. A Student should secure at least 75% of class attendance of the total number of classes held subject–wise to appear in the university examination.
  2. To enter the college premises, every student needs to present their identity card at the gate.
  3. It is expected of all students to maintain a tidy and clean campus. Please place rubbish and garbage only in the proper dustbin located in the campus.
  4. Spitting, playing cards, and loitering are completely forbidden within the college and hostel premises and will be liable to harsh penalties.
  5. It is highly forbidden to consume intoxicating substances in any form, smoking, taking paan masala, gutka, or any tobacco products.
  6. Students are encouraged to make full use of the library facilities during their free time while in campus.
  7. On college campus, political participation of any kind is strictly prohibited. It is strictly forbidden to hold gatherings, processions, or money raising without permission of the authority.
  8. According to the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, harassing juniors, inflicting harms on fellow students, or engaging in any type of ragging may be considered criminal offences. The offenders will be punished as per exists laws.
  9. Misconduct directed at female students, including using violence or threats against staff members or fellow students, will be taken seriously as significant offences.
  10. To avoid fines, pay fees, hostel bills, etc. in advance or on schedule.
  11. Students must look for vital information on the college website.
  12. Latecomers will not be entertained to enter into the classrooms.
  13. In the events of students’ seminars or project presentations etc., it is compulsory that all the students of the concerned class are to remains present for the entire session.
  14. It is expected of all students to attend all college events.
  15. In order to uphold decorum, students are encouraged to keep quiet in academic buildings. Any disruptive activity, such as hooting or whistling, will be treated as an example of indiscipline.
  16. It is required of students to utilize all available academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular resources to their fullest potential.
  17. Students can use social media, but with necessary case and precaution.
  18. All students should contribute to maintain a peaceful and education friendly environment in the college.
  19. Students cannot circulate any printed materials within the campus without the Principal’s permission.
  20. Students should check the college notice board as well as college website on regular basis for information.

Code of Conduct for the Principal

  1. The college's principal is responsible for ensuring that all academic activities and the quality of education are improved.
  2. The principal will form different committees at the college level and designate the coordinator for each group.
  3. The principal will develop policies and strategies to carry out the college's vision and mission.
  4. The principal will convene the various Cell meetings and will communicate other necessary information to ensure the seamless operation of college operations.
  5. The principal will monitor effectively financial affairs of the college.
  6. The principal will supervise for ensuring strict adherence to the directives provided by Vidyasagar University, the West Bengal government, and the Department of Higher Education as well as UGC and the Central Government.
  7. The principal will encourage the teachers to improve their knowledge and abilities by following appropriate procedures, such as attending seminars, paper publications etc.
  8. The Principal will timely look after matters related to the placement- promotion of teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
  9. The Principal will take steps for timely redressal of all the grievances of the various stakeholders of the college.
  10. The Principal will take steps for enhancement of different skills in teaching and the non-teaching staff of the college.

Code of Conduct for Teachers

  1. All teachers are to follow code of conduct strictly.
  2. Every teacher is expected to carry out all tasks and work honestly and genuinely, as assigned by the head of the institution and head of the department from time to time.
  3. Teachers are expected to actively participate in and collaborate with all institution’s events and initiatives. Teachers ought to encourage their pupils to take an active part in the institution's programs and events.
  4. The teacher must adhere to the code of conduct and leave rules of the college.
  5. To ensure they are professionally competent to carry out their assigned duties, teachers are required to keep up-to-date on their knowledge and abilities.
  6. Before teaching their various subjects, teachers should prepare a lesson plan.
  7. It is improper for teachers to practise casteism.
  8. Teachers are not allowed to work in any capacity related to business within the institution.
  9. They are expected to comply with and uphold the aforementioned regulations.
  10. Any type of legal infraction will be viewed by the concerned authorities as a criminal offence.
  11. No leave will be considered except CL (casual leave) without prior permission of the head of the institution.

Code of Conduct for Non-Teaching Staff

  1. No employee is allowed to work in a trade or business, either directly or indirectly. No leave will be considered except CL (casual leave) without prior permission of the head of the institution.
  2. When on medical leave, employees must abide by the University leave rules.
  3. If any employees are facing criminal charges, the institution's head should be notified right away.
  4. All are to turn up in the office on time to join duties.
