Vision:

The Department of Physics is committed to provide quality education, research and proper infrastructure for a better transfer of knowledge to the students using ancient ideologies and modern techniques to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the fundamental principles of the subject and make them capable enough to find a meaningful path of survival with dignity, confidence, sense of innovation and responsibility towards the society and environment.

Missions:

1. To develop students’ theoretical background of physics and thinking ability.

2. To develop their skill in practical physics by hands on experiments.

3. To motivate the students in the research, attending seminars and workshop.

4. To guide them for competitive exams like JAM, GATE, NET, SET, SSC etc.

5. To develop students’ skill the different Add-on/Certificate Course will be introduced in the next academic session.

Physics Department of Egra SSB College, which is affiliated with Vidyasagar University, located in the serene suburban area of Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal. To cope with the modern trend as well as to fulfill the demand of the local students of Egra SSB College, Physics department has been introduced in the year 2005.We take immense pride in providing quality education and fostering a deep passion for physics among our students. The Department has been working towards the direction of uplifting student’s mindset in order to prepare them for future challenges. As one unit, the Department has always been for the students and by the students. Beyond the academic realm, our department actively encourages research and innovation. We have already introduced research centre under Vidyasagar University and two scholars already registered for their Ph.D. degree in the Department of Physics in the session 2022-23.

The Department is equipped with necessary instruments but not sufficient due to lack of space and financial supports. To ensure that our students receive a comprehensive learning experience, it is crucial to provide them with access to state-of-the-art laboratory instruments after introducing of CBCS system and upcoming NEP system. The incorporation of Python programming throughout all semesters of the Physics Honors& General Course is highly beneficial and can significantly enhance the learning experience of students. But to conduct the computer programming classes, the Department needs a computer laboratory for the smooth running of their practical.
