Biography

Dr. Debajyoti Pradhan, an Assistant Professor of Zoology, commenced his professional journey in 2004 as a Contractual Whole-Time Lecturer in Zoology at Dhruba Chand Halder College (affiliated with the University of Calcutta), located in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. He began as a Part-Time Lecturer in Zoology after obtaining an M.Sc. in Zoology in 2003 from the University of Calcutta. Dr. Pradhan has dedicated his professional life to the study and teaching of Zoology, contributing significantly to the academic community with his expertise and passion for the subject. He pursued higher education with a focus on biological sciences, culminating in advanced degrees that equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in academia. His pedagogical approach combines theoretical knowledge with practical insights, preparing students for both academic pursuits and real-world applications. Throughout his career, Dr. Pradhan has been actively involved in research, contributing to various fields within zoology. He has published 13 research papers in reputed journals, four book chapters and four books to his credit. He has submitted 13 gene sequencing data of different strains of prokaryotes and eukaryotes to NCBI GenBank. His scientific interests are more broadly on histology, endocrinology, animal physiology, fisheries and aquaculture. Dr. Pradhan continually seeks to expand his expertise through participation in more than seventy conferences, workshops, and seminar. This ongoing professional development ensures that he remains at the forefront of scientific advancements and educational methodologies, which he then integrates into his teaching practice. As an Assistant Professor, he continues to inspire and educate, contributing significantly to the academic community and the field of Zoology.
