College Library:

• History and Overview: Established in 1968, the College Library is an important academic resource centre supporting teaching, learning, and research.
• Collection and Resources: The library has a collection of over 39,000 books, including textbooks, reference books, research materials, career-oriented books, and rare collections, arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) scheme. It also subscribes to 54 journals and provides magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals.
• Automation and Web OPAC: KOHA, an open-source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), was installed in 2017. A large number of books have been catalogued online through KOHA, and the cataloguing of the remaining collection is in progress. The Web OPAC enables users to search the library catalogue online.
• Digital Resources: The library facilitates access to NDLI, N-LIST, e-PG Pathshala, Vidya-mitra, Internet Archive, SWAYAM PRABHA, e-Gyankosh, and other online learning resources. The library also facilitates faculty members’ access to the VIDWAN portal, and several faculty members have created their academic profiles on the platform.
• Infrastructure and Facilities: Covering approximately 4,993 square feet, the library provides a reading room, journal section, newspaper reading zone, and internet facilities for academic and information-seeking activities.
• Vision: The library is committed to improving access to print and digital resources, promoting reading habits and lifelong learning, and supporting the academic and research needs of the college community.

Monday –Friday 10.15 a.m-5.15 p.m.
Saturday 10.15-2.30 p.m.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATION:

General Rules:

• All the teaching, Non-teaching staff and students are requested to maintain the Arrival & Departure Register while entering the library.
• Silence is to be maintained in the library.
• Students are allowed to library only on production of their Receipt of Admission.
• Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
• Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
• Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises.

Circulation System:

Books will be issued on presentation on the library card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.

• Honours Students are allowed to borrow 3 books , Pass/ General students can borrow 2 books and PG students are allowed to borrow 3 books at a time for 15 days.
• In case of costly books 1 book instead of 3 can be issued to the PG students (especially for Science department).
• After 15 days a book may be re-issued only if there is no other demand for the book.

Overdue charge:

• A fine of 50 paise per day may be charged for return of book after due date.
• The borrower will be responsible for any damage /defacement/loss of book borrowed against this card.

Book lost:

• If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay four times the original amount of the book after getting permission from the librarian.
• For loss/damage of this card a duplicate card may be issued on payment of Rs. 10/- along with an application to the Principal through the Librarian.
• Without library clearance mark sheet of the final exam will not be issued.
